The wind direction and weather-independent smoke extraction element SHEV-Flap consists of a straight, heat-insulated GRP upstand as well as an integrated louvre window with attached weatherproof louvre hood. It is delivered as a finished flat roof element and is equipped with a bird screen (if required insect screen). If there is regular passenger traffic below the installation location of the SHEV Flap, the use of special glazing (overhead - LSG) may be required. Please check the installation location with regard to this installation rule and, if necessary, order the SHEV Flap with VSG glazing.
The SHEV-flap can also be opened for inspection purposes after installation from the roof. This makes the element ideal for closing SHE openings in lift shafts. The louvre cover also makes the SHEV-Flap watertight, protecting the electrical components from damage by water - a requirement that comparable technology such as rooflight domes cannot fulfil!

SHEV-FLAP smoke extraction device

The smoke extraction element SHEV-FLAP is the ideal closure for openings in flat roofs. These are especially openings above elevator shafts, which are intended for natural ventilation and smoke extraction. It can also be used as a relief opening for pressure ventilation systems in stairwells. The SHEV-FLAP consists of a straight, 50 cm high thermally insulated upstand and an integrated, tested NRWG lamella element with attached weather protection lamella hood. During construction, special attention was paid to a clean thermal separation in terms of building physics. The element is available in various standard sizes as well as made to measure. This solution provides a weather-protected opening, which ensures smoke extraction independent of wind direction.
